Metzeler will be the Official Tyre of the most iconic motorcycle road race until 2027
Metzeler has been selected by the Isle of Man TT Races as the Official Tyre. The most famous motorcycle road race in the world, has chosen Metzeler as its sole Official Tyre for the five-year period 2023-2027. The Tourist Trophy has been run since 1907 on the road circuit of the Snaefell Mountain Course, a 60.720 km track on the Isle of Man. Over the years it has become an iconic competition characterised by charm, tradition, glory, passion and adrenaline, values also shared by Metzeler, who boast of a history of over a century and a half full of motorsport successes and technology.
Yorkshireman Dean, from Bradford, loves the Isle of Man so much, hes recently moved his family over to enjoy the scenery and ride the excellent local enduro trails! Hailing from a TT family, he and his sidecar driving dad Conrad are the only father and son to win a TT in the same week! His greatest accomplishment to date- winning the ‘big one’, the Senior TT in 2019- on Metzeler rubber. Now a factory Honda rider, Dean had a strong 2024 with four race challenging podiums on the new Honda Fireblade and is hoping to add to his win tally of three victories.
The Morecambe Missile is a man who needs no introduction to road race fans all over the world, John McGuinness is the third most successful Isle of Man TT rider ever. Having logged 47 podiums and 23 wins he remains a firm crowd favourite. He showed no sign of slowing in TT 2024, aboard the new Honda Fireblade and still has superb pace. Considered by many as a roads specialist, John has raced across multiple disciplines including 24 hour World Endurance races, 500cc GPs, the Daytona 200 and is a former British 250cc Champion!
Davey not only took his first TT victory in 2024, in the Superstock class, he went on to win the ‘big one’, the Senior TT. Fresh from a trio of wins at the recent North West 200, the young ex Supermoto star is the one to watch! This year he will be running for Padgetts Honda in Supersport and his own team 8TEN on BMW M1000 RR machinery for Superbike and Superstock classes. His TT PB is a startling 135.664mph lap!!
James plans for 2024 were thrown into disarray after the team he signed to ride for collapsed at the last minute but such is the popularity of the South Coast rider, he has a series of opportunities for 2025 including his old green team Bournemouth Kawasaki (Supersport) and Muc-Off Racing Honda (Superbike/Superstock/Senior). James is also famous for cometing in the brutal Dakar Rally.
The Geordie lumberjack, presenter and racer always brings a smile to the paddock with his unmistakable accent and laugh. The host of the popular Chasin’ the Racin’ podcast, ‘Dom The Bomb’ is also a member of the hallowed ‘130mph’ club. Dom will be running a mixture of his own machinery after a team change near the start of the season.
One of the most popular and iconic TT riders ever, ‘Hutchy’ famously dominated the 2010 TT with an incredible, and yet to be repeated, five wins in a week. However serious injuries and illness have meant the ‘Bingley Bullet’ has missed many years of racing before an ultra popular NW200 Superstock podium showed he still has the fire to compete. To illustrate just how fast Hutchy has been, back in 2016 he logged a 133mph lap… on a Superstock bike! Hutchy joins Browne in the MLAV Racing BMW team.
The ‘Two Metre Man’, Cummins is a popular and well known face in his native Isle of Man as he runs a coffee shop, Conrods! Joining Burrows Engineering/RK Racing on BMW and Ducati (Supersport) machinery. Twelve TT podiums and a 133mph lap means that CC knows his way around, even if that all-important win remains just out of grasp.
